This needs to be told and re told to everyone watching and listening to you, from the 18-25 year olds especially.   5. Quantity vs quality I feel like is up to you to decide, but there still gotta be a pretty healthy balance. What's for branding vs numbers… Branding is something people believe you are so if you have a great branding- custumers count on you, they trust you and so you can grow bigger and bigger. Numbers thought are just numbers. People can have millions subs on youtube, but not as much views. Its all because not numbers matter, but people who care for things you do. And with good branding you can have both the people and numbers.

  7. to be honest I liked snapchat better when it was just about girls sending sexy pics that they wouldn't text but I see the clear value in it because its how my clients communicate with their kids, just like facebook it was a totally different animal and I can remember being in college with it and once it opened up beyond colleges and then parents got on… trying to watch if things develop in a similar way.

  8. I like the interruptions and here is why. It is so easy to say something – as fact – and move the conversation forward without really clarifying if it is fact or not. I think Seth is great (this isn't about Seth). But the way you interview and pull back to ensure you are moving forward correctly is phenomenal. That is how serious conversations can create serious value. Not just create sound bites.

  9. Gary I completely agree, a lot of people see the sales and transaction side of business but forget that in this generation people by into BRANDS and not into just mum and pop shops anymore. Their skills to transact the sale need to be as frequent as their branding and marketing of their product and service.

    EyeGames is an app that helps gamers discover new video games to play for any console. We wanted to get on that snapchat wave and tried to take your advice.

    Here's what we did. We found some legit girl gamers, and we decided to talk to them on how they could help promote us. We paid them 30 dollars to get on this girls snap who has 10k plus followers. We decided to send her a shirt and at the time we told her we were doing a giveaway for a free video game. She said it in snap linked our name and our snap went from 4 views a story to 400. I thought it worked we get way more interaction on snap chat now.

  11. #QOTD The quality of marketing and value will determine results. I strongly believe any business that makes its focus transactional will suffer in the long term. Making the experience of doing business a pleasant and uplifting one will bear fruit many times over. It's karmic/cyclical I say.

  12. #QOTD I think that the growth hacking side of things is a lot easier than the marketing part of things, which you mentioned in your rant. What I have done in the past is used success from growth hacking (several times that you have RT or replied to a tweet), I get a lot of new followers from those interactions. That growth hacking has now provided me with an opportunity to market and sell to a larger follower base now. So, I think that the 2 go hand in hand. Successful growth hacking can help your marketing efforts land on more eyeballs….. You keep asking Questions of the Day Gary, and I'll keep answering!
