Awesome Tip: Clarifying My Thoughts on Hard Work, Hustle, and Happiness | Gary Vaynerchuk Original Film

A lot of people misunderstand what I mean when I talk about “hustling” and “working your face off” …

The truth is, I just want people to be happy. If your ambition is to own a sports team or build a big business, there’s no way you can get there without putting in an obnoxious amount of hard work.

On the other hand … if you’re happy working 7-8 hours a day and being part of two softball teams, that’s amazing!

I’m not trying to push people to work like me … I’m just trying to push people to back up their ambitions.

  1. Currently I am terrible unhappy. But people don't see it and I don't complain about it. Because I know it isn't forever its just for now. Slowly but surely I'm building and saving. The life I want to give myself and the woman I love isn't here yet but it is coming up and excites the fucking shit outta me.

  2. Gary, lean into everything that you talked about here. I implore you to do so! Everything you talked about here will hit so many people more so with kids, young adults and everyone in between.

To me, getting threw high school was the hardest thing for me to get threw in life! I lost count how many times i thought about taking my own life because of high school!

It's the Syco blah blah that kids, teachers, and parents that hit me so hard with their judgment an comparing me to others. Why can't i be normal, or be like other kids! Because i am not fucking them and i wouldn't lower or raise myself to be them! Yet, i tried to be like them. Tried to fit in i should say!

There was no place in their world for me to fit into! So i fell into a deep depression, hit away, hit my feeling, dare not to show how i felt or to speak up! For i was judged for anything and everything that i did or did not do!

I am now in my 40s and a lot of these things still hit me hardcore. But i have gotten over some of it but i don't think i will overcome it all! Thanks for your time and hope to hear from you soon. Thank you for all the work and kind words you speak!

  3. I'm one of those people who is on a quest for happiness. I understand exactly what you speak about. I'm 42 and none of that other shit is important to me, but my happiness. I'm working and not happy and have been looking at ways to use my skills to create a happier life. I just fucking got it and it's for me this time. The business I just created…I'm currently looking to give free hours away to start growing my business word of mouth. My job will cover expenses until I can start getting paid for what I do. I'm loving your content. It speaks to me. I use all free time at work to learn, plan and strategize.

  4. Thank you for your truth! At 50, I thought I wouldn't be able to make it online. Thank you for snapping me out of that.

Not sure how you came onto my feed, but I'm grateful! I really needed to hear your videos. I'm on my tenth now and you're talking all the bullshit excuses out of me with everyone!

Tears of release, and grateful as fuck!

  5. Im 32 and I am just learning what it is I really want or what I am really good at but I have problems with doubts what if I go after the wrong thing and I am now just older like I don't have room for mistakes anymore but i guess I won't know your until I try. You give me some hope GaryVee.

  6. We are living in a renaissance. We are lucky. We’ve won. Now what do you do with your winnings?

Celebrate! But then put it to use and help yourself sustain happiness for the entirety of your life. And finally, help those around you invest their winnings too!

  7. I think my opinion is just keep learning, even though if isn’t you love to do, just try to learn from it. But of course I still prioritize the things what I love the most to do. Further always be happy and try to do some activities that will leisure my self, like doing adventure, going at beach, waterfalls, something that give peace into my mind and relax. And always document my activities wherever I go, putting it into my channel.

  8. Can you love Monday when you are still in school and you cannot change it and when we have fucking PE (in which I personally suck) I have fucking depression. And I can't change it and that's even worse. I love programming and that's what I want to do to end of my life. But I can't do it because I need to study and do my homework and I have time to do this on Fridays and weekends and that's why I love it.

  9. Excuses are position I’ve been poisoned your the cure Gary thank you your unlocking minds in ways you may or may not be aware of but fuck you seem like you get it more than I when the student is ready the teacher and lessons will appear And become more clear I haven’t been acting out who I am inside the guy who used to sell on the school yard paper round and more your I’m learning sales and all that go into it now! I just took time to type this and post on instagram to document fuck I have to keep it up for life

  10. This guy knows what everyone knows but it's the people who actually do something that will be successful. Most important is to have a plan. You live as an individual and you're supposed to live to better yourself. I'm 17 right now and waiting for high school to be over because I have a plan. It so happens to work out that my 18th birthday is the day of my prom and I'll finally be graduating 4 days later. As soon as I turn 18 I'm opening a stock trading/investing account. I'm currently working a delivery job and I'm taking on a second seasonal job as the Easter bunny accumulate even more money to fund my trading account. Making small steps towards a better future takes a desire and fulfilling that desire takes commitment. I don't expect anyone to take me seriously because I'm just a random comment on YouTube but maybe one day I'll be the one motivating and passing down this information.
