Best part of the video is there at the end, talking about how people slip into wasting their lives on jobs they don't love, or buying bullshit they don't have money for. So insane that this kind of advice would be rare to hear, it's so so basic.
Drake Bell was the guy who brought me to powerpop. Jellyfish, ELO, Beach Boys, The Beatles etc…. and he also was one of my heroes a few years back. I always liked him cause he was just doing real music. Now he's just like all the other people out there.. there is simply nothing on his new stuff i am interested in… i heard It's Only Time a few days ago and wow… that was good. It's obvious that he want to be successful. Thats why the new "style". But he forgot one thing: You can only be a successful artist if you be yourself. Drake Bell has nothing authentic at the moment.. DRAKE! go back to your real style. Make music inspired by your favourites. I know the powerpop-guy is still in you!
Good for Drake man! It’s crazy to hear the insight into people’s lives who are famous, who have been on TV and movies etc. You really get to learn all of the hard work that goes into being successful. Great interview team! You rock Gary.
