This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Thomas Mackie engages the audiences with his plan on designing an entrepreneurial university. His first-hand experiences provides insights into business development and career building.

Thomas Mackie is a professor of medical physics at the School of Medicine and Public Health, a professor of biomedical engineering in the College of Engineering, and chairman, co-founder, and co-inventor of TomoTherapy, Inc. His work focuses on exploring and building medical devices with the potential to rest or cure medical conditions, and to improve the transition of devices from research lab to clinical use. His association with the Morgridge Institute here at UW Madison has helped support his research with medical devices to achieve a great impact within the upper Midwest.
